Dr. Engelhardt is an established veterinarian who has been in practice for over forty years. He is the owner of Bay Valley Animal Hospital which he built in 1979.
Dr. Engelhardt and Nancy, his wife, are proud parents of their three children, Amy, Philip, and Paul.
He is a compassionate veterinarian who loves working with animals. When he is not working, he enjoys traveling to his cabin in the U.P., and spending time with his pets; a King Charles Cavalier named Bentley, and his three Siamese cats.
Dr. Elizabeth Hogen recently joined Bay Valley Animal Hospital in October 2015. She is from Los Angeles, CA and went to UC Santa Barbara for her undergraduate degree and worked as a vet tech all throughout college. Wanting to become a veterinarian since she was a child, she eventually attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine for vet school and completed her clinical year at Oregon State University. She has special interests in soft tissue surgery as well as medicine.
In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys traveling to new places with her husband, spending time with family and friends, baking delicious treats, going to the beach, and doing arts and crafts, such as painting.
Dr. Hogen's pets include a Siamese cat named Jade, a Bengal named Merlin, and a yellow lab named Oliver.
Dr. Philip Engelhardt Jr. joined Bay Valley Animal Hospital in 2016. He is a native of Bay City, Michigan and grew up watching his father practice veterinary medicine at the family practice. He earned a business degree at Northwood University and later attended veterinary school at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, completing his clinics at Oregon State University. His special interests include internal medicine.
In his free time, Phil enjoys traveling with his wife, photography, horticulture, aquariums, and relaxing with the pets for movie night.
He has two cats: a Siamese cat named Jade, a Bengal named Merlin, and a yellow lab named Oliver.
Jen has been employed at Bay Valley Animal Hospital since 2002. She graduated from Baker College in 2004 with a degree in Veterinary Technology.
Jen loves all types of animals and has enjoyed owning dogs, cats, rabbits, small rodents, ducks, and hedgehogs. She especially enjoys obedience training with her dogs.
Christa has worked at BVAH on and off since high school (year undisclosed), starting in kennels then moving to receptionist and assistant. She has worked with a variety of animals both large and small for most of her life. She has a bachelors degree in History from SVSU.
When she is not working at BVAH, Christa has toured internationally with music and comedy groups in a variety of roles . She loves to spend time with her boyfriend Daniel and her family and friends. Christa lives to travel and perform, and snuggle her kitties, Igor and Ivan.
Haley has been with us since 2013. She loves all kinds of animals, with cats, dogs, and rats being her favorites.
Heather joined Bay Valley Animal Hospital in October of 2012. She likes reading, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends.She has a dog, Abbie, and two cats, Peach, and Blu. Heather is planning to attend vet school in the future.
Mark has been employed at BVAH for many years, providing excellent care to our boarders. He loves to cuddle them and give lots of love while they are in our care.
When Mark isn't at work, he enjoys watching movies, learning more about cars, and bargain shopping.
Laura has been working for Dr. Engelhardt at our Linwood Veterinary Clinic for almost twenty years.
She volunteers at Petsmart cleaning cages, and she also rescues little kittens!
She is a vocalist in her church's praise band. She paints ceramics (including pet headstones and urns) when she has free time.
